Editorial approach
We prioritize primary sources whenever they are available. These include government releases, official plans, regulations, policy notices, statistical publications, maps and supporting documents. We link to original sources and identify issuing bodies, dates, geographic scope and document status when those details are material.
We distinguish reported facts and source summaries from editorial interpretation. Headlines, summaries and commentary are written to provide useful context without overstating what a source establishes.
Sources and translation
Chinese official sources are authoritative for Chinese-language policy and legal text. Our English translations and summaries are provided for context and general information; they are not certified legal translations. Where a term has no exact English equivalent, we may retain the Chinese wording or explain the translation choice.
Readers making legal, financial, investment or development decisions should consult the original source and qualified professional advisers.
Opinions and analysis
Signed commentary represents the author's analysis. Editorial articles represent the publication's view unless stated otherwise. Opinion and analysis may assess current conditions or future directions, but interpretation will not be presented as official fact.
Corrections and updates
Policies, plans and city conditions change. We date our articles, identify substantial updates and correct material errors transparently. Correction requests should include the article URL, the passage in question and a primary source where possible.
Independence and funding
Editorial decisions are made independently. Advertising, if displayed, does not determine coverage or conclusions. Sponsored or paid material will be clearly identified and will not be presented as independent editorial coverage.
